Who we are

The Contra Costa Performing Arts Society is a nonprofit organization providing rich performance and fellowship opportunities for musicians in Contra Costa County and offering extraordinary music events to local audiences at no charge. Come explore your love of music with us!

Free daytime and evening concerts are given by our members at least twice monthly on both weekdays and weekends. From classical to jazz to original compositions, our members will enrich your musical forays and delight your tagalong friends.
Other Events
CCPAS hosts scholarship competitions for student musicians in both voice and piano and sponsors an annual piano master class for student members. Music teachers who are CCPAS members may also arrange private studio recitals through CCPAS.
Consult our Events Calendar for a full listing of the many concerts and other public events that CCPAS offers throughout the year. Our concerts are always free and open to the public. Plan ahead, or come on the spur of the moment!
Chapters
Chapters meet regularly throughout the year, offering adult and student musicians opportunities for feedback and fellowship. Our student chapter fosters a sense of community as young musician members develop self assurance and performance skills through workshops, public performances, and scholarship opportunities.
Community Outreach
Since 2011, in support of CCPAS’s commitment to providing no charge, easy access to live music programs within our local area, Community Outreach offers informal entertainment within local settings such as hospitals, not-for-profit theatrical venues, nursing homes, senior resident communities, and other like venues. Contact the program chair to learn more about these volunteer activities.
Membership
Whether you’re an amateur musician looking to share your love of music with like-minded individuals, a professional musician seeking local performance opportunities, a student musician interested in mentorship and leadership development, or a music lover who wants to support the arts in Contra Costa County, we invite you to become a member and explore all that CCPAS has to offer!

Upcoming Concerts

Piano student members playing at late intermediate or advanced level (MTAC Certificate of Merit Level 8 or above) are invited to participate in the CCPAS Student Piano Master Class. There is no fee to attend the master class as either a performer or an audience member.
